The story of Pahlmeyer Wines has been an incredible one of fate and hard work. Patience paid off in the 1980's, when Bordeaux cuttings brought back from France by Jason Pahlmeyer and John Caldwell produced a 94-point Robert Parker wine. But it is the winery’s commitment to sustainable wine growing that has made all the difference.

Erin Green, winemaker at Pahlmeyer Viticulturist Amy Warnock takes a holistic approach to agriculture. Careful selection of plants placed between the rows of vines helps to maintain soil moisture and minimize the need for pesticides. With customized irrigation, they are able to conserve water in the vineyards. And by using bird boxes and perches, they encourage natural predators to pests that feed on the vines.
