Cosentino Winery

Cosentino Winery was founded in 1980 as Crystal Valley Cellars/Cosentino Wine Company. Founder and Winemaker Mitch Cosentino started making wine in a rented room inside a wine warehouse owned by a Modesto, California wine distributor, and in late 1981 released his first wine.

From the beginning, Cosentino was known for his innovation, being one of the first California vintners to recognize Merlot as a stand-alone varietal. By the mid-eighties, the winery had focused on the super-premium segment of the wine market, earning a solid reputation for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay from Napa and Sonoma Counties.
