Winemaker Guy Davis just might be the epitome of the Sonoma County artisan.

Guy Davis, winemaker at Davis Family Vineyards From a cultural viewpoint, Sonoma is casual, but don't let that down-to-earth mentality lead you to believe serious winemaking is not going on. As a self-described farmer, Guy is an incredible craftsman who takes his role very seriously -- not just as a winegrower and steward of the land, but also as an educator in the field.

At his winery in Sonoma's world-famous Russian River Valley, Davis specializes in small lot Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah.

To say that the winery adheres to sustainable practices is a bit of an understatement. To him, it's not an option to make his award-winning wines any way other than organic and "Earth-friendly".
