  • Winery Description

Dutton Goldfield Winery began with a handshake in a vineyard in 1998, when longtime colleagues and friends Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield recognized a shared vision between them—to craft wines that express the personalities of their cool-climate vineyards, and which they’d enjoy drinking at their own dinner tables.

    LOCAL GUIDE

Karen is a Bay Area resident and visits the wine country whenever she gets a chance. She is particularly fond of Pinot Noir.

    Award Winning Pinot and Chardonnay

Known for their pinots and award winning chardonnays, the Dutton Goldfield  tasting room is located off a highway in a warehouse building - in fact you might drive past it before you realize that you’ve gone too far.  The winery is a little off the beaten track and not as glamorous as some, but their outstanding wines and comfortable tasting room more than make up for it.

We first discovered Dutton Goldfield when we were searching online for examples of the perfect Chardonnay and Dutton Goldfield had some of the highest scores in all of the wine country. We made the trek to Sebastapol and after sampling a flight joined the wine club on the spot.

Since then, we’ve returned many times and have found that the staff behind the bar are very knowledgable and always happy to help you find a wine that fits your tastes. They might even offer tastings of wines not on the menu if a bottle is open.

The tasting room has a bar and a comfy couch area (sometimes reserved for wine club members only – so join the wine club!) and a nice shaded patio.

As an added bonus, Red Car tasting room is just across the lawn so you can visit another winery without moving the car!
