Local winery needs help picking and sorting grapes. They provide lunch as well as wine (sometimes Bloody Marys and/or Mimosas are a possibility in the morning but there is also muffins/coffee as well to start the day).
The lunch for Sunday is as follows:
TBD – but something good – they do treat us well !
There are two main activities: picking and sorting
Picking is gathering the grape clusters in the vineyard. We supply curved knives designed for harvesting grapes, although some folks prefer to bring pruning shears. Your choice. If using a knife, having a glove for the non-knife holding hand is not a bad idea.
Sorting is done at the crush pad and involves inspecting the fruit that was harvested for leaves and any other not-so-pretty things. Gloves are not a bad idea here as well, though probably something lighter duty as you don’t have to worry about sharp knives.
As far as clothes, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty, and a couple of layers you can peel off as things warm up. Hats are good. Mostly this is about having a good time with wonderful folks around you. We look forward to sharing the day with you.
Winery, directions and details (including waiver) will be sent out to those that RSVP. There is a limit of 15 spots !
