PLEASE! Read the directions below to see how to get on the attendee list.

******************************* THE EVENT ************************************
We had such an amazing time at our previous private wine tasting events that we decided to do it again.

You have only one nose and one palate – why not excite and challenge them???

The majority of the wine enjoyed in California is made from Chardonnay grapes or Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, but there are many other wine varietals that are tasty and exciting to try. My wine competition events enable me to find truly unusual and interesting wines. We will taste together and discuss six to eight little known white and red wines. They may be from Gavi from Italy, Tannat from Uruguay, Dornfelder from Germany, and Pinot Meunier and Primitivo from California.

Wines are subject to substitution depending upon tasting them the day of the event.

The goal of the event is enjoyment, some wine education and making new friends. There will be time for socializing, gourmet snacks, and tasting interesting wines brought by attendees.

***************************** OUR HOST **************************************
THIS EVENT STARTS PROMPTLY AT 4 PM. BE ON TIME! If you arrive after we have started the presentation and tasting you will miss tasting the first wines. We will be outside on a patio, weather permitting.

Our host will be Brad Bruce, who is a wine judge for the California Grapevine Newsletter, the Program Director for the Wine Guild Chapter of the American Wine Society, and annually judges wine competitions. He enjoys organizing fun wine education events that introduce wine lovers to lesser known wines. He has been a Wine Judge and Educator for over 20 years.

***************************** WHAT TO BRING *********************************
Each attendee should bring either a wine friendly snack, a bottle of not your typical wine, or both.

A finger food snack to share such as cold boiled shrimp, rolled sandwiches, quality cheese and crackers, cold pasta salad, dips, sliced fruit, dried fruits, etc. NO REALLY SPICY FOODS. Please specify what you will bring when you RSVP.

Why not search out and bring an exploration wines to share and evaluate with other attendees?

****************************** HOW TO SIGN UP ******************************
The Cost: $15 to go towards the expenses of this event and the Wine Fanatics Meetup group. PLEASE USE THE OPTION “SENDING MONEY TO A FRIEND”, otherwise PayPal thinks I am a business and takes a cut out of your payment.

When you RSVP you will automatically be placed on the WAIT LIST. You are moved to the ‘YES’ list ONLY after you have paid to attend the event. (READ the entire post!).

Please pay via PayPal to [masked]. USE THE OPTION “SENDING MONEY TO A FRIEND”!! I already have people doing this incorrectly.

NOTE! WHEN YOU PAY PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR MEETUP NAME. ESPECIALLY IF IT IS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR PAYPAL NAME. If multiple people have the same Meetup name (like ‘Tony’) I won’t know who to credit the payment to.

******************** HOW DO I GET ON THE YES LIST? **********************
How the attendee selection process will work:

1) EVERYONE INITIALLY GOES ON THE WAIT LIST. The event is for a limited number of attendees (26 total) due to the cost and limited availability of the wines to be presented.

2) ONLY people who have paid the $15 will be moved to the attending ‘YES’ list.

The location of the event will be sent to paid members prior to the event. It is in the vicinity of Jamul and 94.

If you need to call or text me regarding this event my number is[masked].
