A Sense of History.

In 1976, an English wine merchant and an all-French panel found a group of select California Chardonnays and Cabernets superior to their French counterparts. A few years after the stunning ‘Judgment of Paris’, a small group of us wine enthusiasts and investors began to purchase blocks of these and other Napa and Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignons.

They approached 4th generation Napa native and Harvard MBA student Lesley Berglund, who put together a plan for a fine wine catalogue. Under Lesley’s leadership, the Ambrosia Wine Catalogue was born.

Admittedly, we at Ambrosia were ambitious and wanted to create something truly rare in the wine world. A collection of library wines unique to Sonoma and Napa. One that we would want to collect and drink – one that inspired us to become the winemakers we are today.

To do this, we decided every member of our staff would taste each wine with winery owners, their families, winemakers, and/or growers. We showed up to lend a hand at harvest and bottling, even celebrated holidays and personal milestones together.

This has truly been a labor of love. With the re-release of the Ambrosia brand, Wine Tasting Network celebrates its ‘rootstock’. We are proud to say we have an excellent cellar and consider our vintner partners family.
