This exclusive collection contains the following wine selections:
Grass Tree, Riverina Semillon Chardonnay, South Eastern Australia (90 Points)
Aromas of pear, fig and citrus fruit are immediately apparent on the nose. The fruit character is repeated on a round, balanced palate with a finish that is long and refreshing. This is a wine for the table tonight, but it will soften some with aging over the next two to three years.
Bellecourt, Chenas, Beaujolais, France (90 Points)
Dark ruby red in color, this wine, derived from 100% Gamay offers subtle aromas of roses and peonies along with cooked peaches and plums. The effect is that of jam laced with cinnamon and cumin spices. A fresh, very well-balanced wine with good acidity at the end, finishing with notes of licorice and noble wood. Serve cool to the touch, but not cold, and fruit and spice flavors will develop in the mouth.
Jean Berteau, Côtes du Rhône Blanc, Cuvée Prestige, France (91 Points)
This fine white Rhône is notably pale straw in color with glints of brilliant yellow. It opens with a complex and intense nose of dry, crystallized apricots and grilled almonds. Fresh fruit flavors are repeated in the mouth and preserved in the smooth and zesty palate.
Lakeville Cellars, Maxwell Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, Lake County, California (91 Points)
Ripe fig, honey and crisp melon notes precede a layer of lemon, herb and tangy acidity. The wine is full-flavored and delicious to drink. Fermented in stainless steel to capture the essence of the natural grape. Serve with seafood or chicken with pasta.
Vides del Este, Reserve Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina (90 Points)
This Malbec Reserva shows a gorgeous deep red color with violet tones. It opens with aromas of raisins, plums and raspberries with a hint of black pepper. On the palate it repeats with layers of black currant and cherries supported by mocha and mineral notes. Balanced and well structured with a supple and long finish.
Baudron, Mendoza Tempranillo, Argentina (90 Points)
Tempranillo is a relatively versatile wine for cheese pairing. It is somewhat herbaceous (think green pepper) making it a nice pairing with veggies or cheese dips that incorporate veggies like artichokes in the recipe. Its bright cherry flavors make a nice contrast with salty cheeses of many types. And, as one of the lighter reds, no need to worry about strong tannins competing with a sharp cheese should you choose one.
