The 2010 Rojo Garnacha has the color of blackberry with blue tones, almost opaque. Intense and pleasant aromas of liquorice, wild red and black berries fill the nose, with mineral undertones. Well-rounded and balanced on the palate, it is elegant and fresh. Red fruit, minerals and a hint of fresh thyme linger on the finish. It’s surprisingly silky and full-bodied, with a rich varietal expression.

Winemaker Notes
This Mediterranean red varietal, the most cultivated grape in the world, produces excellent red wines which benefit from its oily and sensual tannins, achieving an impressive power and expression. The grapes for this Garnacha come from 40 year-old vines grown in the lime-y soil of Campo de Montielin Valdepeñas, situated at 700 m above sea level. The grapes are harvested and selected at the peak of maturity followed by controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks up to 28ºC.
