The nose of red cherry, raspberry, cloves, and rose petals is echoed on the palate and joined by mineral, spice, black currant, and cherry cola characters. An excellent match to roast salmon, duck, or lamb preparations.

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast:

"Made in the Morgan style, which is big and powerful in fruit. Detonates on the palate with jammy cherries, black raspberries and cola, sprinkled with cinnamon and cocoa. Bone dry, with some hefty tannins and acids. Tastes direct and immature now, but should develop in the cellar over the next 4–6 years." (3/1/2010)

92 Points, Connoisseurs' Guide:

"Its stated alcohol is a smidge lower than its Double L mate, and its balance is impeccable, but this deeply stuffed wine nevertheless reflects the concentration that is very much part and parcel of the vineyard potential. The wine’s solid black cherry fruit is joined by nuances of dried lavender, roasted vanilla beans and a whiff of toasty oak. Chewy and fleshy at the front of the palate, the wine is firm, balanced and equipped with a fair bit of grip at the back. It asks a bit of patience to smooth out and is sure to reward it." (Feb. 2010)

91 Points, Wine Spectator:

"Combines ripe, fleshy plum and black cherry fruit with vibrant acidity, a supple texture and anise, mineral and spice notes. Firming, yet delicate and complex. Drink now through 2014." (Dec. 2009)
