This South African producer is proving you can make wine while being mindful of the environment and one another.
Our general manager, Chris Edwards, had the privilege of discovering this wine first-hand when he visited the winery last spring. As if sipping this fabulous wine from the beautiful South African guest house wasn't enough, he did so while watching as the cold currents of the Pacific met the warm currents of the Indian Ocean ... a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
While we were jealous at the time, we are certainly thankful now! This wine is amazing and perfect for the warmer months ahead.
One World pays tribute to the heritage of the Koopmanskloof community and the precious land it inhabits. "Koopmanskloof", Dutch for "Trader's Ravine", defines the profession and location of the indigenous community who embraced fair trade with the first European ships to visit South Africa's Cape of Good Hope during the 16th century. Today this multicultural community still upholds its reputation as a fair and friendly trader with its distinction as the largest Fair Trade wine producer in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa.
Located within the Cape Floral Kingdom, one of the richest biodiversity regions of the world, the community actively supports conservation in the Cape Winelands by participating in the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative (BWI). Produced in harmony with nature, the cellar sits alongside the community's private nature reserve of 98ha fymbos.
One World is Fair Trade Certified™ by Transfair USA, which is a consumer guarantee that strict economic, social and environmental criteria were met in its production and trade. One World joins companies like Ben & Jerry's, Green Mountain Coffee and Sam's Club in their commitment to doing good. Collectively, they emphasize that fair prices and direct trade mean a better life for workers and farming family communities.
A delicate pineapple aroma with a light touch of peach on the nose. Intense with tropical fruit, banana and guava flavors. A beautiful match with a variety of seafood and salads, it's also delicious with Asian cuisine or desserts, particularly those based on apples or pears.

Awesome wine - great balance, fun, fresh, tropical flavors. Paired with pork chops. Fabulous. Screw cap too so a great wine for Summer picnics.
