Yet one doesn’t have to venture very far outside the city limits to encounter an entirely different kind of setting. North of Sydney, nestled in a protective cove, is the small port town of Gosford, from which this featured wine selection takes its name. Besides being a port town, Gosford is just minutes from Australia’s famous Hunter Valley winegrowing region.
Hunter Valley vineyards provided some of the grapes for the 2010 Gosford Reserve Shiraz, with the balance of the fruit sourced from other South Eastern Australia growing areas. The wine is made in a medium-bodied style, which means it’s ideal for serving with food — including the fare you’ll find at Sydney’s best dining establishments.
