Cornerstone 2010 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

The Sauvignon Blanc Musque clone is responsible for some of the finest Sauvignon Blancs in California. Used by many wineries as a blending component, a few wineries are now using the Musque clone as if it were a distinct grape variety: Sauvignon Musque.

Our 2010 Stepping Stone by Cornerstone Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc, Cuveé Musque represents a unique side of this increasingly popular and versatile Sauvignon Blanc sub-variety. Winemaker Jeff Keene has showcased the powerful and intense aromatics and luscious flavor profile of this distinctive clone.

 An extremely cool, gradual fermentation in stainless steel has allowed this wine to exude a fresh and invigorating aromatic mix of intense tropical fruit, apple and melon aromas with a hint of varietal herbaceous notes adding to the complexity of the nose. The palate is crisp, lively and mouthwatering offering intense tropical flavors, underpinned by a racy acidity and a finish that is clean, crisp and refreshingly mineral-laden. This wine is perfect for drinking while young and vivacious and will be at its best over the next one to two years.
