Wine Specs
This winery was the more than a decade building effort of owner Dario Sattui. It is a 12th-century Tuscan-inspired castle, complete with 107 rooms, dungeon and a torture chamber. It also features a moat, Tuscan frescos and a 500-year old fireplace. The winery produces primarily Italian grape varietals.
“[This wine has] floral, spicy aromas of lychee nuts, rose petals, clove-like spice and apricot, among others. On the palate, the wine shows an oily texture typical of dry Alsatian Gewürztraminers. The concentrated fruit flavors of delicate, ripe pear plus mild spice are balanced by supple acidity.”
