The idea for Bridesmaid developed as a wine that can be opened and enjoyed any day of the week by winemakers, connoisseurs and wine collectors.
Bridesmaid, a Bordeaux-style blend is clothed in mystery and unable to divulge secrets, Bridesmaid is a serious wine for bona fide wine drinkers. Bold yet elegant, it is both approachable and cellar worthy. Celebrated wine makers Pam Star and Drew Neiman garnered inspiration for this wine while working at such celebrated wineries as Spottswoode, Gemstone, and now her own label, Crocker & Starr. Meanwhile, Drew has kept his winemaking skills sharp with the creation of Neiman Cellars and stints at Newton, Kongsgard, and Chateau Boswell. Together they have crafted a wine to delight any wine drinker.
The 2006 Bridesmaid Red (Napa Valley) is a Bordeaux style blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot. Forward aromas of dark cherry cola and ripe plum mixed with brown spices and a bit of licorice follow through with intense flavors of blackberries, blueberries and dark cherries. All that ripe fruit surrounded by French vanilla oak that finishes long and smooth. This fully bodied Bordeaux style blend finishes with notes of tiramisu.
