Made from 100% Carignane grapes that thrive in the long hot days of the Lodi area, this unique release offers blackberry and pepper spice aromas that set the stage for bursting berry fruit flavors. Strong tannins and oak flavors from 14 months in French and American oak meld into a soft finish.

Region Description |
Because of its long hot days , Lodi is a good growing area for Carignane. Lodi has been a wine grape growing area as long as the Santa Cruz Mountains have been. While the two areas both produce wine grapes today, they are directed toward two different styles of wine. So, it is very exciting to have found Carignane planted in 1909, producing top quality wine. The Rauser Vineyard sits on the banks of the Mokelumne River. Knarled and still head pruned, the vines look as though they’ve been through 100 harvests. |

Not many people have ever tried a wine made from carignane grapes. Carignane has good taste and great body. Help's when the vines are over 100 years old and are raised next to the Mukelumne River out side of Lodi. I love it and I hope you do to. Bargetto does a excellent job of retaining the Carignane flavor and blending other red's into it for a superb wine. Enjoy for only $15.00.Thank you
