2545 Cellars 2009 Torrontes

Produced from Argentina's most emblematic grape, this Torrontés is a deeply aromatic golden-colored white wine exhibiting floral notes of candied peaches and roses. Flavors of tropical fruits flood the mouth like a torrent with an extra zing of spice and acidity on the finish. With good balance and body, it is ideal as an apertif or the perfect match for fresh seafood. Serve chilled.

Hence, our new Torrontés from Argentina.

Think of a Torrontés as a cross between a Gewürztraminer and a Viognier. This light, easy-drinking wine has the floral aromatics reminiscent of Gewürztraminer and the exotic fruit character of Viognier, with a refreshing and crispy finish. Made from Argentina's most widely planted white grape, Torrontés is gaining a cult-like following among wine drinkers and will only grow in popularity once more the more adventurous taste it. Forget the Chardonnay or other run-of-the-mill white wines; this is a completely new taste experience. I did not like this at all!! It was much too floral. I really can not stand to drink it at all. I am going to give away the other 2 bottles I have. It is like drinking perfume..
