Hahn 2007 Central Coast Cabernet Franc

Beginning with a pleasing ruby-red hue, the wine offers aromas of white pepper and spices, black cherry, and subtle notes of tobacco and smoke. The initial taste is one of clove, pepper and spice, evolving into a long lingering finish of black cherry and blackberry. Smooth, balanced tannins make this a very drinkable wine. Enjoy this wine with spicy meat dishes, such as BBQ shortribs, or spicy marinara-based pasta dishes.

This is a Central Coast appellation wine blended from grapes grown in Hahn's Big Red vineyard in Paso Robles, the Hames Valley Vineyard in southern Monterey County, and the Ste. Gabrielle vineyard in Paso Robles, with a little Petite Sirah from the Big Red Vineyard added for balance. The wine was barrelled for 15 months in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels.
