Our Rating 92

We get very excited about our wine values here. We've even developed a special name for the really amazing finds; we call them "almost-too-good-to-be-true" deals. (TGTBT for short.)

The 2004 Brava Terra Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was already one of these deals -- one that we were shouting about from the rooftops. So when we recently received news that it won a silver medal at the 2010 World Wine Championships, you can only imagine our reaction!

This Cabernet Sauvignon hails from an outstanding Napa Valley vintner recognized for releases from its estate vineyards. The award-winning winemakers at this family-owned, sustainably farmed Napa Valley winery already have a few notches on their belts for producing ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon. So it made perfect sense that we go to them for this release.

With a judicious touch of Merlot, this wine spent time in both new and old French and American oak for a wine that beautifully balances oak with fruit.

This wine is a top seller year after year. Aged under optimum conditions at the winery, it is now ready to drink and showing magnificently. One sip and you'll understand why so many are calling it their favorite this year!

Wine Profile

Tasting Notes An impressive masterpiece from start to finish, it shines deep and dark red in the glass. The nose is brimming with ripe berries and red fruit aromas hinting of the luscious, dense flavor to follow. Showcasing red berry, cherry plum and currant notes, these fruit flavors unfurl with tobacco and earthy spice elements while firm tannins coat the palate.
Awards Silver, 2010 World Wine Championships.
Food Pairing Notes This wine is an excellent choice as a classic pairing with grass fed beef. Smoked meats such as pork, sausage or turkey also make a great match.
