For 40 years, Freemark Abbey has produced Cabernet Bosché, one of California's first vineyard-designated wines. The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, owned by the John Bosché family, is well-known for producing wines of distinctive character and excellent quality.
Located a quarter-mile north of the town of Rutherford, where the vineyards meet the western foothills and the environment is near perfect, the neighborhood is prestigious indeed. The area is considered ideal for producing wine grapes, with its silty clay loam and gravelly soil.
The Cabernet is blended with a small percentage of Merlot from the vineyard and this combination continually proves to be a delicious taste experience.
