The 2009 Caravina is the 11th release of Seavey Winery's second Cabernet Sauvignon.

Balanced and elegant, yet powerful. A very long finish with impressive flavors of blackberry liqueur and coffee.

Aromas of ripe black cherry with hints of sweet vanilla. Palate is soft and luscious, with flavors of dark plum and blackberry and soft, supple tannins.

Silky tannins evolving on blackberry, black cherry and grenadine, lingering on very ripe tannins with touches of spices and cigar.

The Howell Mountain is intense and powerful, as you would expect from fruit grown on rugged Howell Mountain. It is a terroir or vineyard wine as it reflects the personality of an individual vineyard.

Lush berry fruit serves as the base of this wine. Merlot adds opulence and breadth, while a dash of Petit Verdot adds depth and structure.

The 2008 Monticello Tietjen Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is showing great aroma. Dark fruit, loads of sweet vanilla and mocha oak.

The 2008 Caravina (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits copious aromas of coffee, chocolate and black currants along with silky tannins, good density, not the complexity of its bigger sibling, but an attractive mouthfeel and plenty of length.

It has a very long, savory finish with the slight grip of fine-grained tannins. Given proper cellaring, this wine should give drinking pleasure through 2030.

Deep, ruby red color, aromas of plum, blackberry and spice. Smooth.
