Cuvaison Estate Wines
Cuvaison, founded in 1970, survived its first decade under the auspices of what one wine publication called "confused and confusing owners." The roster of past owners included a pair from the engineering world of Silicon Valley and a Swiss Publishing company. In 1986, the Alexander Schmidheiny family of Switzerland purchased Cuvaison and has managed to steer the winery into its present and more critically acclaimed state today.
