All in the family
You’ve become familiar with the face of our 1-800-Flowers.com Founder and CEO; Jim McCann from seeing him in our 1-800-Flowers.com commercials, on the Silver Screen in Valentine’s Day and on television in such shows as Bloomberg’s The Mentor and on Entertainment Tonight. His brother, Chris McCann the President of 1-800-Flowers.com, recently became a popular television personality with his highly rated appearance on the hit reality show, Undercover Boss. What you may not know about these two very popular brothers, is they are equally passionate about great wine and its’ place in the celebration of family and friends.
Our Clarim brand is a crafted by the finest winemakers in their honor. The brand is named after their mother, Claire and father, Jim. The label showcases a crest that hints at their rich Irish heritage and deep celebration of family. Each of these wines is a celebration on to itself to be enjoyed with friends and family.
Naturally, both the Chardonnay and Red were crafted in Napa and Sonoma Valleys using local grapes – resulting in two premium selections that are fast becoming new favorites. Lucky for us, both really are exquisite and we didn’t have to talk them up just to please the boss. And, lucky for you, this label is exclusive to Winetasting.com.
Clarim’s 2009 Reserve Chardonnay isn’t your typical, oak-infused California chardonnay. Clarim crafted this selection in the style of the French, which resulted in a balanced yet intense chardonnay – one that has a real snap to it. Around here, we refer to it as “Sunshine in a glass,” mainly due to its long, dry and crisp finish (making it perfect with virtually any seafood).
A blend of 70% Cabernet Franc, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Petit Verdot, Clarim’s 2008 Oakville East Red offers rich, mature fruit aromas along with a wonderfully earthy character and loads of berry and black fruit flavors. In fact, this is the winner of the 2010 Word Wine Championships: Gold, Exceptional.
“This wine has great structure, with a full, buttery nose, minimal oak and a pleasantly round mouth-feel. All in all, a wonderful addition to our Clarim family wine collection.” - Jim and Chris McCann
